Welcome to
the Department of European Languages and Literatures

​We offer instruction in languages, literature, and cultures of the English-speaking world, including American English, French, German, Greek, Latin, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. Our department provides elementary and intermediate courses that help students develop foundational language skills. Additionally, we offer a variety of specialized elective courses that focus on advanced language proficiency, translation, literature, film, and different cultural aspects.

We also assist students in obtaining proficiency certifications from our institution and the official language departments of respective countries. These certifications open doors to opportunities in translation, interpretation, international business, diplomacy, and secondary school teaching, all while establishing a strong academic background.

Our language institute also provides interested and accomplished students the opportunity to explore internships and career opportunities from various sources. Our department awards small grants to deserving students annually, as well as several graduation honors.
