Celebrate Chinese New Year: Field Trip to a Buddhist Temple
|
To celebrate Chinese New Year—the Year of the Horse—in a meaningful and cultural way, we are planning a special field trip to Upstate New York on February 17, the first day of Chinese New Year.
As many of you know, Buddhism plays a significant role in Chinese culture. Similar to traditions around the world, the New Year is a time to express gratitude for the past year and to pray for prosperity, good health, and happiness in the year ahead. On this day, people from diverse backgrounds and beliefs gather to offer wishes and welcome the beginning of a new year together. For this purpose, we will visit Chuang Yen Temple, which is open to the public only on the first day of Chinese New Year during the winter season. Visitors from across the nation and of different religious backgrounds come together to offer prayers, express hopes, and participate in this unique celebration. Trip Details
