Course Overview
The Hindi-Urdu language program consists of three levels: Introductory, Intermediate, and Advanced.

Introductory Hindi/Urdu 

The Introductory level is divided into four sections, each meeting once a week for eight weeks. This level is designed for students with little to no prior experience and focuses on building a strong foundation in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Students with prior exposure are encouraged to consult with the instructor or take a placement exam to determine the appropriate starting level.

• Course Length: 32 weeks (divided into 4 sections per level)
• Schedule: Meets once a week for 2 hours
• Instruction Mode: In person, small group of 3-7 students.

Intermediate Hindi/Urdu

​This course builds upon the foundational skills developed in the Introductory level, helping students strengthen their proficiency in both Hindi and Urdu. Emphasis is placed on shared vocabulary, grammar, and script recognition in both Devanagari and Nastaliq.
The Intermediate level is divided into four progressive levels, each consisting of four sections, allowing students to advance based on their individual skills and capabilities.
Students will enhance their ability to speak, comprehend, read, and write in increasingly complex scenarios, including everyday conversations, short narratives, and cultural topics. Focus areas include sentence construction, verb usage, and listening comprehension.
By the end of the course, students will be able to engage in extended conversations, understand longer texts, and express opinions on familiar subjects. This course also supports preparation for language certifications, cultural immersion, and academic advancement.
