ELIGIBILITY 

• Short-term study is open to individuals aged 8 years and older. 
• Long-term study is available for those aged 15 years and older.
• All participants must be in excellent physical and mental health, and demonstrate qualities such as maturity, flexibility, and adaptability.
• Additionally, candidates should be willing to actively engage in Chinese society and potentially with host families.
  
• Prior proficiency in the Chinese language is not required for enrollment. However, candidates may undergo interviews conducted by the Programs' office to evaluate their qualifications and suitability for the program.
  

HOW TO APPLY

To apply, kindly submit the following documents to JPLI at [email protected]:

1. JPLI application form
2. Current School transcript for the current school year
3. Two letters of recommendation*
4. Complete health form
5. Copy of US passport
6. Two copies of US passport photos (submit in-person)
7. Make Payment (three methods) :

● Make Deposit Payment by March 15, 2025
• $2,000 airfare deposit
• Plus 15% of the program fee
● Final Balance – Remaining balance due 60 days prior to departure.
● Family Discount – Immediate family members receive a 5% discount on the program fee (excluding airfare).

*Letters of recommendation should be obtained from school teachers or other reputable sources familiar with your academic or professional abilities.

**$65 application fee for JPLI students. $185 application fee for non-JPLI-students.
***Successful applicants must complete the tuition payment within 5 days of admission.

ORIENTATION 
Participants are required to attend all orientation activities associated with their program, covering pre-departure and registration information before 2 weeks of the trip. Information on the date and location will be sent via email.
