ABOUT THE PROGRAM

ADMISSIONS

The open to all middle school, high school & university students as well as college graduates!  ​JP Language Institute offers opportunities to study in Japan whether you speak Japanese or not.   Through close interaction with Japan’s landscape, culture, and folklore, students will experience modern Japanese culture and enhance their communication skills . There are a variety of program options available to meet the diverse needs and individual focus of each student. Course duration is programmed in accordance with our partner schools’ requirements, ranging from 2-weeks, 4-weeks, 6-weeks, semester to academic year.

Summer 2024 - Academic Schedule
06/28 Friday to 07/10 Wednesday 

                   Detailed information will be announced in March 10th,2024.  

Participants must arrive Haneda Airport by noon of June 27, 2024 (JST). 
If you have a schedule conflict with the JPLI program, you must let the JPLI Office know before you apply.
During the program, staying out overnight is prohibited even at another student’s host family’s house or at a hotel.

Day & Time	Activates
Day 0 Thursday, June 27	Thursday, June 27 Departure from U.S cities. Please make your own way to Haneda Airport.
Day 1 Friday, June 28	Tokyo  Arrive at Haneda Airport. Representatives of IACE will greet you at the arrival lobby and assist you with your hotel transfer
Day 2 Saturday, June 29	Tokyo Welcome to Tokyo, a city where ancient temples coexist with towering skyscrapers, and tranquil gardens are just steps away from bustling city streets. As a leading destination for travelers from around the world, Tokyo offers an array of unforgettable sightseeing experiences. To kick off our journey, we’ll go sightseeing to Tokyo’s must-see spots.
Day 3 Sunday, June 30	Shizuoka Enjoy a  “Shinkansen” to Shizuoka, the Majestic Home of Mt. Fuji. About 1 hour from Tokyo, Shizuoka is a leader of  tea production in Japan. About 40% of Japanese Green Tea is grown in Shizuoka. In a stunning view of Mt. Fuji, experience local Japanese life far from the hustle and bustle of the city. ●          Nihondaira ●          Kunozan Toshogu​
Day 4 Monday, July 1st	Homestay  First day of school and meet your host family! ​
Day 5 Tuesday, July 2nd	Homestay  Second day of school. Explore the city of Shizuoka after school.
Day 6 Wednesday, July 3rd	Homestay  Third day of school.  ​
Day 7 Thursday, July 4	Homestay  Enjoy a break from school and visit Mt. Fuji World Heritage  Center, Shizuoka to learn about Mt. Fuji. As you have enough  knowledge of Mt. Fuji, let's hike to the 5th station of Mt. Fuji to  refresh your mind and body
Day 8 Friday, July 5	Homestay  Fourth day of school. Visit a green tea farm and learn about  green tea. Learn all about how Japanese tea is made, from  farming to processing .
Day 9 Saturday, July 6	Kyoto Enjoy the last day in Shizuoka with your host family. We will head to  Japan’s ancient capital, Kyoto by Shinkansen.
Day 10 Sunday, July 7	Kyoto The city of Kyoto has 117 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, over 1,600 Buddhist temples and over 400 Shinto shrines. We will visit some of them. This is a great opportunity to learn about Japanese history
Day 11 Monday, July 8	Kyoto Today's destination is Hiroshima, a place defined by peace. Traveling to Hiroshima will take a round trip bullet train. After visiting Miyajima, a UNESCO World Heritage site, we will enjoy a river boat ride to visit the Peace Memorial Museum. Walk along the city's tree-lined avenues and enjoy Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki for dinner! Closing Ceremony
Day 12 Tuesday, July 9	Kyoto  A Food Lover’s Paradise, Osaka! The term kuidaore (or “eat until you drop”) is used to describe Osaka’s food culture. Take a stroll along the canal street and see neon signs and the famous Glico Man in the Dotombori area.
Day 13 Wednesday, July 10	Haneda Airport Last day. We will take a bullet train back to Tokyo. The camp will end at Haneda Airport. Say “Sayonara” to Japan.
