The open to all middle school, high school & university students as well as college graduates! JP Language Institute offers opportunities to study in Japan whether you speak Japanese or not. Through close interaction with Japan’s landscape, culture, and folklore, students will experience modern Japanese culture and enhance their communication skills. There are a variety of program options available to meet the diverse needs and individual focus of each student. Course duration is programmed in accordance with our partner schools’ requirements, ranging from 2-weeks, 4-weeks, 6-weeks, semester to academic year. |

Admission Requirements and Application Process
The following criteria have been established to guide the selection of participants for this program. Applicants are expected to meet both academic and non-academic requirements to ensure full engagement in the learning experience.

The above requirements represent the standard expectations for admission. Adjustments or exceptions may be granted only in extraordinary circumstances, at the discretion of the admissions committee.
4. Application Process
Application Period: (September 20 – October 25, 2025)
•Two Recommendation Letters (from a teacher, family friend, or colleague).
• Copy of US Passport
● Make Deposit Payment by October 20, 2025:
• $2,000 airfare deposit
• Plus 20% of the program fee
• Family Discount – Immediate family members receive a 5% discount on the program fee (excluding airfare)
• Payment Method:

● Final Balance – Remaining balance due 60 days prior to departure.
● Family Discount – Immediate family members receive a 5% discount on the program fee (excluding airfare).

- Applicants should demonstrate a genuine interest in languages and/or cultural studies.
- Japanese Proficiency: Prior knowledge of the Japanese language is not required for admission.
- Family members of current JPLI students are welcome to participate and are encouraged to apply.
2. Non-Academic Requirements
- Regulations: Applicants must be willing to comply with all program regulations and guidelines.
- Adaptability: Applicants should demonstrate the ability, or willingness, to adjust to new situations with social awareness and cross-cultural sensitivity.
- Commitment: Participants must be prepared to engage fully for the entire duration of the program, with dedication to the intensive study of Japanese language and culture.
- Health: Applicants should be in good physical condition, capable of travel, and prepared to adapt to varying weather conditions and cultural environments.
