Introductory  Spanish

The Introductory Spanish (Course code: SPAN100) program is divided into four sections, each lasting eight weeks with two-hour sessions every week. The curriculum focuses on essential conversational, listening, writing, and reading skills. Students will explore important topics such as greetings, personal introductions, numbers, days of the week, months of the year, shopping, directions, and medical assistance. Basic grammar, including verb conjugations, will be extensively covered.
After completing all four sections, students will have developed a solid foundation in communication skills that can be used within a Spanish-speaking community. In addition, their skills will be equivalent to Novice High level or A2B1 of CEFR's standard.

Spanish 101 

• ​Basic vocabulary to be able to use and understand information related to:
  • daily routine and work such as schedules
  • info related to daily activities at home and with the family
  • relaxation and leisure activities such as talking about time and experiences
  • life in the city such as shopping or giving an address
• Basic grammatical structures such as articles and nouns, adjectives, present, future and past tenses of regular and irregular verbs.

PROGRAM SPECIALTIES 

• In-person, small group (3-5 students)
• Each section consists of eight 2-hour sessions, held once or twice per week, and can be completed in either eight or four weeks. Upon completing the section, students can then enroll in the next level of that section.

• Certificate available to students with average score above 85 points. 
• CEFR exam preparation courses
